The beauty pageant with the theme “Green Economy, a tool for Sustainable Development” took place in Calabar, Cross River State. 18 African countries participated in the contest. Miss Cameroon, Miss Angola, Miss South Africa, Miss Tanzania and Miss Namibia made it to the top five.

Neurite Mendes of Angola emerged the winner of the first edition of Miss Africa. Miss South Africa and Miss Cameroon were the first and second runner-ups respectively.

Star artist , Hadiza Salma Blell popularly known as Afro Di’ja has revealed why she had a secret wedding with her hubby and has not been sharing pictures of her husband on social media.

She stated that her husband is a very private person and their wedding was done in her home town Kaduna where it is not very noisy as Lagos and anyone would say that it was a low key wedding.

Di’ja who said that she is not a recluse noted that sometimes when they both go out for an event she enjoys the moment to the extent that she forgets to take pictures with him.

She also said that she was not good at doing all the posting and tweeting thing and when you don’t do such things as a celebrity, people feel you are hiding something.

Speaking about owning a record label, the singer said she was not ready for that especially when it comes to managing people of different personality.

Shocking: University student uses falz the bahd guy language as a case study in her final project.

The student, identified as Onyeani Chiamaka Faith did a study on “Language Use in the Entertainment Industry, a study of Falz the Bahd Guy”.

The singer posted a screen shot of the project cover and urged his fans to help him look for the student who did the project.

Falz who is a lawyer has created a language niche for himself in the entertainment industry as he is able to use pidgin mixed in thick Yoruba accent in a hilarious way. He also merges two forms of creative expression – rap and comedy, both of which he delivers by weaving in his peculiar language.

He is a graduate of Law from University of Reading in United Kingdom. He has bagged many awards like “Best Actor in a Comedy Movie/Series”, ‘Viewers’ Choice Best New International Act’ at the 2016 BET Awards.

Fire outbreak at yabatech hostel..... see photos

One of the female hostels (Bakasi Hostel) at Yaba College of Technology, Lagos, was gutted by fire at about 5am this morning. According to several eyewitnesses, the fire wasn’t serious at first, but because Fire Service didn’t come on time, the fire soon spread. The cause of the fire is unknown.

Thankfully no life was lost but a few people were injured, while students credentials and properties were burnt….more photos after the cut…

‘I Used To Wear One Pant For Many Days’ – Maheeda

Popular Singer, Maheeda was a year older day before yesterday. The nudist and mother of one recounted her journey to stardom.

She narrated how she started out as a bar girl and house girl which did not really meet her dream, but she had to do it in order to keep body and souls together.

“We Want Justice On Seun Egbegbe, This Is Not His First Time” – Computer Village Trader

A visit to computer village where the incident happened will make you discard all the press releases from Seun Egbegbe’s camp. Seun Egbegbe is Toyin Aimakhu’s notorious former lover after she left her husband, Adeniyi Johnson.

You may recall that the relationship was violent with accusation and counter-accusations. Toyin was reported to have fled for her life before Seun came on a video interview after the incident to tell the world that his former mistress cannot find a man who will satisfy her.

This notoriety of Seun Egbegbe is known all over the famous computer village market also. He is said to be extremely influential with Lagos Area boys and had the backing of some unknown godfathers.

This is not the first time Seun has been enmeshed in a case like this but before things could get out of hand, everything got sorted. He has been allegedly involved in many of such cases without repercussions.

According to an eye witness, “This is not his first time. He has done the same thing to more than three people in this market”, a computer village trader who doesn’t want his identity disclosed said as he takes me round the market, he pointed at those shops where Seun’s escapade had once been felt without repercussions.

I further queried if the said incident was a movie as being suggested by some.

“It is not a behind the scene movie as many have said it is online. Dem no dey act any movie for here. He was a thief and he has been doing it before yesterday”, another trader said.

Everyone who spoke to us did so under anonymity because they said Seun Egbegbe is very influential among area boys and even amongst Police.

One man said “I have a wife and children at home. I don’t want them to become an orphan yet”.

The truth is that Seun is feared or should I say his supposed influence and the end game of it is feared. The ‘hush-hush’ in which the traders spoke to us further confirmed this. They spoke freely about it amongst themselves but once they sense you don’t belong, they get cautious.

“See, there were only 11 iPhones in the shop and he took 9 of them. This is the confirmed story”, said a member of CAMPAN (the association in charge of computer village) before directing us to Area F where he is being held.

The pictures of Seun Egbegbe which has been circulating online with was taken inside the CAMPAN office where he was taken to when nabbed. Reports from Computer village is that Seun would have been badly beaten if his boys didn’t quickly alert Police who came to his rescue before further injury could be inflicted on him.

“Seun Egbegbe ran my business down”, another trader said.

This trader showed me how big his shop used to be and how Seun deceived his apprentice to steal his shop’s goods while he was away. Even though the matter was reported to the Police, nothing was done about it, according to the trader.

Since the story of her s.ex video broke a few weeks ago, several groups have come forward with different versions of what transpired between the embattled 20-year-old beauty queen and the organisers of the pageant

But after weeks of keeping quiet, Miss Okeke has finally broken her silence. In an exclusive interview with The Nation she said: “Early last year, the ABS advertised for the Miss Anambra beauty pageant. I heard of it and went to make enquiry

My roommate was also interested, but one of the organisers told me to apply. I told them I was not interested but the man insisted that I might win the competition. He also promised to give me the form for free if I indicated interest, and he did when I agreed to contest

But one Jane told me that before a winner would be declared, there were certain things to be done, including the (s.ex) video. I consented after some persuasion from the organisers. I later went for the contest at the Marble Arch Hotels in Awka, and I was declared winner with a Kia Rio vehicle as star prize

When I went for my car after the contest, the organisers brought out a contract form for me to sign, but I told them I wanted to contact my lawyer to see it. I was not given the opportunity to do so

What they kept telling me was that if I insisted on not signing the contract or wanted to contact my lawyer, they would release the video

At that point, I became uncomfortable and signed the contract to avoid such embarrassment, and the car was released to me from where it was packed within the premises of ABS

From that moment, I became a slave to them. On October 11, 2016, they called me to come and make presentations inside the office of one the organisers. After that, the man excused some people in that room and showed me the video again

They told me to drop my car and removed my crown from me. I told them I would take the car as stipulated in the contract. They insisted I should pack it in the premises

I told my uncle in Abuja about the situation. they forwarded the video to him as part of the blackmail
