The beauty pageant with the theme “Green Economy, a tool for Sustainable Development” took place in Calabar, Cross River State. 18 African countries participated in the contest. Miss Cameroon, Miss Angola, Miss South Africa, Miss Tanzania and Miss Namibia made it to the top five.

Neurite Mendes of Angola emerged the winner of the first edition of Miss Africa. Miss South Africa and Miss Cameroon were the first and second runner-ups respectively.

Miss Angola is going home with a brand new 2016 Ford Escape and $25000

Celebrities love it when they have good fan base and it pleases them when their fan base begins to grow but have they really considered the fact that some followers may not be following them because they like them but because they want to spite them

A typical example was a dramatic scene that played out yesterday when an anonymous follower engaged Adeniyi Johnson, the ex-husband of Toyin Aimakhu in a war of words.The follower unleashed venom on Niyi who finally reacted and said that he knows who could possibly be behind the whole unwanted scenario.Luckily for him, an actress identified as Shai intervened in the situation as she claimed that Toyin Aimakhu was behind the whole prank.The Instagram follower who is presumed to be Toyin accused Niyi of always visiting herbalist and an Alfa for spiritual rituals.

Followers of Niyi did not keep mute.  They gave it back to the alleged Toyin and called her all sorts of name, like being a lesbian. But Adeniyi pleaded with the fans to refrain from abusing the “Frustrated”This is not the first time such kind of thing is happening to a celebrity but the good thing is that gone are the days where these celebs will keep quiet and allow themselves to be bullied on the social media. These days a lot of them have been giving it back to any unruly fan who does not respect limits and boundaries.

Why i had a secret wedding - Star artist Di'ja

Star artist , Hadiza Salma Blell popularly known as Afro Di’ja has revealed why she had a secret wedding with her hubby and has not been sharing pictures of her husband on social media.

She stated that her husband is a very private person and their wedding was done in her home town Kaduna where it is not very noisy as Lagos and anyone would say that it was a low key wedding.

Di’ja who said that she is not a recluse noted that sometimes when they both go out for an event she enjoys the moment to the extent that she forgets to take pictures with him.

She also said that she was not good at doing all the posting and tweeting thing and when you don’t do such things as a celebrity, people feel you are hiding something.

Speaking about owning a record label, the singer said she was not ready for that especially when it comes to managing people of different personality.

Shocking: University student uses falz the bahd guy language as a case study in her final project.

The student, identified as Onyeani Chiamaka Faith did a study on “Language Use in the Entertainment Industry, a study of Falz the Bahd Guy”.

The singer posted a screen shot of the project cover and urged his fans to help him look for the student who did the project.

Falz who is a lawyer has created a language niche for himself in the entertainment industry as he is able to use pidgin mixed in thick Yoruba accent in a hilarious way. He also merges two forms of creative expression – rap and comedy, both of which he delivers by weaving in his peculiar language.

He is a graduate of Law from University of Reading in United Kingdom. He has bagged many awards like “Best Actor in a Comedy Movie/Series”, ‘Viewers’ Choice Best New International Act’ at the 2016 BET Awards.

Excerpts from Toke Makinwa’s upcoming book “Becoming” have begin to hit the web. One of the biggest revelations in the book was Toke revealing her husband has called off their wedding 3 times previously as well as the fact that they made a sex tape together.

She wrote in the book, “It was my wedding day. I was happy, yet I was waiting for something to happen. Maje had disappointed me three times before. We would pick a date to go to the wedding registry and he would call it off. It wasn’t until we shared our first dance that I finally believed that it had happened. .

We got back together (after a quarrel because Maje took ‘an ex’ to a party he bluntly told Toke he wasn’t taking her to and he and the ex were ‘touching freely and kissing’) Maje invited me to Abuja.  As I was putting away my things I saw all kinds of feminine items – earrings on the dresser, sanitary pads in the drawer….”

“At some point while we were dating, Maje had asked if he could tape us having sex. This was a new one for me but I would do anything to keep my man, or so I thought, and so I obliged. But I was nervous afterwards because I didn’t want the tape to get into the wrong hands.

I dragged the file back to his desktop, and I could tell from the stilled image in the video that the person in it was not me. I clicked play and watched horrified as Maje had sex with Anita. Watching that video, all of the inadequacies I thought I had dealt with over the years came rushing back.

Fire outbreak at yabatech hostel..... see photos

One of the female hostels (Bakasi Hostel) at Yaba College of Technology, Lagos, was gutted by fire at about 5am this morning. According to several eyewitnesses, the fire wasn’t serious at first, but because Fire Service didn’t come on time, the fire soon spread. The cause of the fire is unknown.

Thankfully no life was lost but a few people were injured, while students credentials and properties were burnt….more photos after the cut…
