Nigeria has qualified for the 2016 African Women’s Cup of Nations, after they claimed a 2-0 win over Senegal at the National Stadium, Abuja on Tuesday evening.
The Super Falcons achieved qualification, thanks to a 3-1 aggregate score.
After they were held to a 1-1 draw in Dakar by the Terranga Lionesses, Nigeria completely dominated their visitors in the return leg.
Despite Asisat Oshoala’s early penalty miss, Rita Chikwelu opened scoring for Florence Omagbemi’s ladies. Igbinovia Osarenoma scored the second goal of the game.
The team, who are the reigning champions, join Egypt, Kenya, Equatorial Guinea, Zimbabwe and hosts Cameroon. The remaining four teams will be decided on Tuesday.
The tournament will be played from November 19 to December 3 in the Cameroonian cities of Yaounde and Limbe.
